Students meet throughout the year in a group setting to hone their skills in theory, ear training, sight-reading, transposition, music history, and performance. These skills are taught in a systematic, yet engaging fashion. Repertoire class helps students prepare for performances, adjudications, and competitions. Students learn how to conduct themselves both as performers and as members of the audience as well as the art of sharing constructive criticism with peers. The group setting provides a sense of camaraderie between students. This sense of camaraderie is highly valued at the Hanley Music Studio.
